Sharon Charlene Wright's Obituary
Sharon Charlene (Jones) Wright of Hay Settlement passed away March 26, 2017 at her home following a lengthy battle with Cancer; born March 23, 1945 to the late Charles and Cora Jones.
She graduated from the Victoria Public Hospital Registered Nursing program in 1966 and married Kenneth D. Wright in 1967. Sharon was hired as the first Director of Nursing at Carleton Manor Inc. in 1970. Working with seniors was her passion and she touched the lives of hundreds of clients and their families until her retirement in 2005.
She was an active member of Woodstock Baptist Church and served in various capacities over the years. She enjoyed family gatherings, travelling, spending time at the cottage, gardening, and cooking.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Ken Wright of 50 years, her two sons, Michael (Sonja) of Florenceville and Timothy (Paula) of Woodstock, NB, proud grandmother to Matthew and Sarah Wright and Marcus Vaillancourt. She also leaves to mourn special sisters Frances Foss of Calgary and Brenda Jones-Brown of Hay Settlement, niece Pam White, Calgary; nephew Robin Foss Calgary.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by parents in law, Donald and Jennie Wright, sister in law Merle Wilson.
A special thank you to: Dr. Frances Alborg, Dr. Jill Hudson, Dr. Liam Hickey, Dr. Samantha Grey and Upper River Valley Hospital as well as Extra Mural for their medical care during the course of Sharon's illness. Thank you also to the many friends and family that helped in so many ways during her journey.
Visitation will take place at Scott Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9.Pm.
The Funeral service will be held at the Woodstock Baptist Church on Friday, March 31st, 2017 at 2:00pm with pastors Leonard Cousins and Craig Woodcock officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date at Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
If so desired, donations may be made to Woodstock Baptist Church (New Building Fund), or a memorial of the donor's choice.
Personal condolences may be offered through the Scott Funeral Home.
