Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Sharon Elizabeth DeWare. She passed away peacefully at the Carleton Manor on September 4 th , 2022, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's.

She was born in Woodstock on December 27 th , 1950, to Lloyd and Dorine (Young) DeWare. She is survived by her children Sherry (Kendall) Leech of Grafton, Lorna DeWare of Summerside, and Mark (Susan) DeWare of Hartland; her grand-daughters Lucretia DeWare of Fredericton, Sloan DeWare of Moncton, and the love of her life, Myles Dymond of Woodstock.  Also grieving her loss are her siblings Barbara (David) Henderson, of Littleton, ME, Gerald (Sherry), Ross, Tim (Darlene) DeWare of Waterville, and her cousin/chosen brother, Wayne (Doris Anne) Craig of Fredericton.  She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sharon was predeceased by her beloved parents, Lloyd and Dorine; her grandparents, Gerald and Grace DeWare, George and Helen Young; Aunts and uncles, Hartley and Muriel (DeWare) Craig, Barry and Pauline Young, Glen and Ester Young, Ross and Alma Young, and Austin and Izzy Young.

Sharon worked for many years for Dr. J.B. Sutherland as a dental assistant.  When the dental practice closed, she devoted her attention to her wholesale silk flower business and caring for her parents. Eventually, Sharon went to work at Shaw's Special Care Home where she cooked for and pampered all residents as if they were family.  She was dedicated to the Lord and her Waterville United Baptist Church family.  She was actively involved in organizing church socials, bible studies, and singing in the choir.  When she moved to Woodstock in 2011, Sharon worshipped at the Woodstock Baptist Church where she enjoyed many friendships and singing in cantatas.

Sharon enjoyed her family, time at the lake, entertaining, and traveling. She was a joyful soul, but her smile was never as big or bright or her heart so full, as when she was with Myles. Their love and companionship elevated her joy in life tenfold.

The family will receive visitors on September 10 th , 2022, at 10 AM at the Waterville United Baptist Church. The funeral and graveside committal is at 12:30 PM followed by a catered reception at the Waterville Community Hall.   The funeral will be live-streamed via the Waterville United Baptist Church YouTube channel.

The family would like to extend their thanks to those who cared for Sharon at Riverside Court and the Carleton Manor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Waterville United Baptist Cemetery, the Alzheimer's Society, the Waterville, or Woodstock Baptist Church.
