Richard Olmstead of Woodstock passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 24, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 56.

Richard is survived by his wife Susan (Murray) Olmstead; his two daughters, Meaghan (Todd) Delaney of Saint John, NB, and Abigail Olmstead of Woodstock, NB; two sons, Nicholas (Natalie) Olmstead of Woodstock, NB, and Thomas Olmstead of Woodstock, NB; One step-son, Nicholas Ritchie of Woodstock, NB; three grandchildren, Westley, Jaxon, and Éowyn; two brothers, David (Heather) Olmstead of Burtts Corner, NB, Roger (Margaret) Olmstead of Upper Woodstock, NB; one sister, Lesley Olmstead of Jewetts Mills, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Richard was pre-deceased by his parents, Dr. G.A. and Margaret (Rowan) Olmstead, and his special Aunt Kate. There will be no visiting by request of the family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 8th, 2010 from the Woodstock Community College at 2:00pm. Father Bill Brennan will be officiating with interment in the Calvary Cemetery.

If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or to The Salvation Army.
