Richard (Dick) Montgomery of Woodstock, NB, passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the age of 84.
Dick had a long and successful career with the Federal Government of Canada retiring as manager of the Woodstock office of Employment and Immigration.
He enjoyed his life-long hobby in woodworking, and sharing his creations with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and most of all his many summers at Skiff Lake.
He was a member of the Woodstock Masonic Lodge #11, the Luxor Shrine Temple and the Saint James United Church.
Dick was the son of Gordon and Helen Montgomery, and was predeceased by his parents and his sister Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carole (Smith) Montgomery, his daughters Wendy (Rod) Hawkins, of Woodstock, Diane (David) Walker of St. Andrews, his son Scott (Amy) Montgomery of Richmond Corner, his brother-in-law Bob (Barb) Smith of Fredericton, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home 815 Main Street Woodstock, NB with visitation on Tuesday Feb 14, 2017 from 6 pm – 9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Debra Baker will be officiating assisted by Rev. Greg Williams .
Internment will be in the Kirk Cemetery at a later date.
