Rhodena Anne "Dena" Brown (née Smith)

December 6, 1934 - February 28, 2019.

Dena passed away peacefully at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock New Brunswick, where she received excellent care in the final weeks of her life.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home 815, Main Street Woodstock, NB

Visitation will be held  Friday March 1, 2019 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on  Saturday,  March 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the funeral home.

A coal miner's daughter, Dena was born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton Island. She married the love of her life, Jim, in Toronto and travelled the world with him, though some of their happiest moments were at "The Camp." She took pride in her nursing career, was a voracious reader, and always had freshly-baked treats. She took great joy in being with her family and sharing in their lives.

Dena is predeceased by her parents, Roland and Elsie (Mercer) Smith; son Kurtis Brown; sisters Vivian Moore, Lorraine Smith, Greta Morrison, Shirley Hennessey, and Norma Attwood; brothers Raymond, Roland, and Lester Smith.

"Gramma" will be missed by all of those who deeply loved her, including her husband of 61 years, James C. Brown; her son Chris Brown (Ann); daughter-in-law Renee Delpellaro Brown; granddaughters Kandise Brown (André) and Krista Pedersen (Scott); grandsons Anthony Brown (Amanda) and Matthew Brown (Allison); great-grandchildren Paige, Trenton, Zara, and Elliot; and her brother Fred Smith.
