HAYWARD, Rachelle Marie - of Woodstock passed away at Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John on Monday, October 09, 2006, at the age of 56. Hayward, Rachelle (neé Bourdage): On October 09, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Rachelle left her earthly classroom where she taught for thirty-five years to be with the Master Teacher. He taught her many special lessons about Love, Life, and Learning. She was grateful as well for the many students, parents, and colleagues who taught her much about learning. Rachelle reluctantly leaves behind her loving siblings: Rebecca Bourdage, Maurice Bourdage, Frank Bourdage, Theresa Bourdage (all of Saint John); Rolande Connolly (John), Oakville; Michael Bourdage, Ottawa; Michelle Bourdage (Andrew), Smithers, BC. She leaves a part of her heart in her nieces and nephews: Sarah, Andrea, Cindy, Lisa, Matt, and Zachary; and her "honourary grandchildren" Sam, Simon, Nicholas. Many wonderful friends and caregivers accompanied Rachelle on her journey of Life. In allowing her to pray with them, to laugh, to cry, and to hug them, she zealously sought to have cancer claim her flesh, but not to have it claim her spirit, her soul. She was predeceased by her parents Adelbert and Claudia Bourdage; husband Ted Hayward; two infant brothers and grandparents. Visitation will be at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB. on Wednesday from 7-9pm.and Thursday from 7-9pm. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church, Woodstock, with Father Bill Brennan presiding, preceded by a hymn sing at 10:30 am. at St.Gertrude's Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Saint John on Saturday at 10:30 am, with Father Doug McNeill officating.
