Obituary

With heartfelt sadness, the family of Paul Delbert Knox of Woodstock, formerly of Hainesville, NB, wish to announce that Paul passed away peacefully at the age of 102 at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock, NB on Friday, August 15th.  Paul was born in Hainesville on May 16, 1923, the son of Alton and Mittie (Jones) Knox.

It gives the family comfort knowing that Paul rejoiced as he went home to meet his Lord and Saviour, likely running to the gates of Heaven.

Paul dedicated much of his life to working with wood- cutting, clearing building, and creating. He especially enjoyed time up on the hill in the sugary and tending his garden. Nothing delighted Paul more than a simple tomato sandwich.

Paul will be deeply missed by his sons, Stuart (Connie) and Charles (Myrna) Knox; grandchildren Tommy (Debbie), Paul (Ashley) Knox, Amy (Carter) Gotell, and Clair (Heidi) Knox; six great-grandchildren; Perry and Zoe Gotell, Isabella, Vivian, Steven, and Kaylan Knox, as well as several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Gearldine Knox (Brawn); sons Steven and Perry Knox; his second wife, Gwen Knox (Haines); sisters Marion Clark and Clara Rae; and brothers Frederick and Albert Knox.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB.

Visitation will be held at Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, 1125 Route 605, Maple Ridge, Sunday August 24,  from 2–4 p.m., with the funeral service directly after visitation followed by refreshments. A private burial will take place at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul's great grandchildren.

For those who wish to honour Paul's memory, donations may be made to the Upper Hainesville Cemetery.
