With much sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Meghann Elizabeth Palmer announces her passing on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, New Brunswick. She was born on January 7th, 1984, the daughter of Lloyd and Barbara (Shaw) Palmer of Woodstock and was predeceased by her grandparents, Kenneth and Hazel (Livingstone) Shaw, and Dale and Bernice (Stairs) Palmer.

Meghann truly is inspirational. She lived her entire life battling cystic fibrosis. Just hours after birth she was sent to the IWK in Halifax for immediate care. This didn't slow Meghann down in the least. She lived her life to the fullest and never gave up. She continued to have a positive mindset throughout her health journey and worked hard to gain an education. Despite her health struggles, Meghann successfully graduated from UNB with a Bachelor of Arts degree and then achieved her second degree, a Bachelor of Social Work at St. Thomas University. As her health declined, she lived in Toronto for over a year where she was able to receive a double-lung transplant in December of 2019 and continued to battle through recovery with a vow to honour her donor. In December of 2023, she received a cancer diagnosis, and again, continued to tackle the upcoming hurdles with positivity and humour. Meghann was a strong, resilient person who cared so much for others. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, spoiling her nieces and nephew, cuddling her beloved pugs, sharing her love of reading with others and campfires. She also loved anything fashion and make-up related, as well as music. She loved listening, singing and dancing whenever possible. She will be remembered for her independent nature, her intellect, her sense of humour and her love for others.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her brothers, Matthew (Tami) and Caleb (Danielle) Palmer and her nieces ,and nephew, Olivia, Anberlin, Esther, and Joel Palmer.

Meghann's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her close friends, Joanne Antworth, Amanda Trizna, and Lise-Anne Grant for the time and care they gave to Meghann. They would also like to thank the staff at the Upper River Valley Hospital for their compassionate care. If desired, donations can be made to a memorial of the donor's choice.

Celebration of Life Service for Meghann will be held on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Jacksonville United Baptist Church,

433 Route 560, Jacksonville, NB.  Visitation hours are from 11-1  pm the same day and the service is followed by a reception.
