With heavy hearts and much sadness, the family of Mavis Irene Spires announces her passing at the Upper River Valley Hospital on March 6th, 2024. Mavis age 74, is survived by her loving husband Gordon of 53 years, daughter Carrie (Richard) and family, granddaughters Emma and Morgan, son Scott (Sandra), and family. Brother Meredith (Pat) and family, Leigh (Doris) and family, beloved sister Grace (David) and family, brother-in-law Wayne sister-in-law Bev and family, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mavis was predeceased by her father Roy, Mother Zula Drost and father-in-law Arthur, and mother-in-law Edith Spires. Mavis was a fanatical cook which her family and friends truly enjoyed. She was an avid animal lover especially when it came to her horses. Mavis also enjoyed gardening and the great outdoors. She was a devoted wife and mother who used her spare time doing what she loved. Mavis lived life with determination and a warm heart. In the face of numerous health challenges, Mavis demonstrated an unyielding spirit marked by her strong positivity. Overcoming obstacles with grace and resilience until the very end. Her ability to find joy in the simplest of moments was a source of inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share her company just like her favorite can of Coke.
Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 from 1 pm -3 pm at Scott Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will begin at 3 pm. With interment in the Lenentine cemetery.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the URVH, especially Mya and Donovan of Integrity Home Health Services.
Donations can be made to the donor's choice in her honor if anyone wishes.
