Mary Katherine Leighton

It is with a heavy heart we announce Mary Leighton was called home on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB at the age of 71. Mary was born on December 13, 1951, with her twin brother, Allan, in Fredericton, NB.

Mary is survived by her daughter Kathy Leighton (Derrick Boone),  grandson Gordon Lupin Jr., son of the late Crystal Leighton (Gordon Lupin), four brothers, Marvin Hayes (Eleanor) of Fredericton, Allan (Stella) Hayes of Benton, Orick (Ada) Hayes of Kingsley, Edward (Colleen) Hayes, of Benton; two sisters, Sally (Allan) Costain of Benton, and Rosalee Hayes (Stephen Barnett) of Fredericton.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by two daughters Crystal and Sally, husband William Leighton, and parents Orick and Verna Hayes.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB.

We invite you to join us in Celebrating Mary's life on Tuesday, October 10, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. At the Scott Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm. from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Trevor McMillan will be officiating with interment in the Benton Community Cemetery.

There will be a reception at the Benton Community Center following the burial.
