The death of Mary Gradwell Laurie nee Steeves occurred on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, 6 days shy of her 101st birthday.

She was the last surviving member of her family.   She was born in Waasis, NB. She and her late husband, Roy Laurie, resided in St. Stephen with their daughter. Then in 1949 they started their shoe store business, and soon called Woodstock home.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lynn Robertson, Woodstock, NB, granddaughters Laurie Ann Underhill (Terry) of Florenceville-Bristol, NB, Jan Coulombe (Marc) of New Maryland,NB and 3 great grandchildren Cameron, Ella, and Zackary; sister-in-law, Frances Steeves, Moncton, NB, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Mary (Charters) Steeves, her husband, Roy; 5 sisters Margaret Beairsto, Frances Cudahy, Doris Wood, Lydia Cameron, and Ellen Anderson and 3 brothers Frank Steeves, William Steeves, and Perley Steeves.

A celebration of her life will be held at Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB on Thursday, August 30th with visitation from 12 pm until 2 pm, with the funeral service to follow. Rev. Craig Woodcock will be officiating.
