Obituary

BOWLIN, Mary Agnes - of Woodstock, NB passed away at her home on March 6th, 2013 at the age of 94. She was born in Newcastle, NB on November 27th, 1918, daughter of the late James and Annie (Whalen) Ryan.

Mary is survived by two sons, Thomas Bowlin (Nancy) of Dartmouth, NS, and Michael Bowlin (Francine Blais) of Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Catherine MacDonald (Mac) of Middle Sackville, NS, and Moira Bowlin of Woodstock, NB. She is also survived by one brother, Joseph Ryan of Newcastle, NB; one sister Genevieve Langis (Marc) of Moncton, NB; six grandchildren, Maria Sellars (Rick), Malcolm MacDonald (Theresa), Kim Lamontagne (Grant), Jamie Bowlin, Matthew Bowlin, Michael Bowlin; one great granddaughter Heather Ann Morrison; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her husband Eugene Bowlin; one sister Catherine Cook; and one brother, Mike Ryan.

Mary was an experienced wireless telegrapher. She worked from 1935-1944 for the Canadian National Telegraph & Telecom in various locations throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before meeting and marrying Eugene. In her 69 year career as wife and mother, Mary`s hobbies included painting (being a lifelong member of the Woodstock Art Club), sewing, reading, travelling and being a proud supporter, along with Eugene, of the Liberal Party of Canada.

The funeral service was held on March 9th, 2013 from the St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. Father John Keoughan officiated, with interment in the Calvary Cemetery.
