Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share our mother Marlene Ann Flewelling has been welcomed into heaven and the arms of her Lord. Mom passed away Monday March 23 with family at her side.

Marlene was known for her love of people, music, and animals. She was generous, sharing her skills and compassion as a community volunteer throughout her life. From baking brown bread and mocha cakes and distributing them to friends and family, to helping strangers feel welcome, and ensuring every visiting doggie received a treat, she had a way of making everyone feel special and loved.

A life-long resident of Woodstock, Marlene worked in real estate for more than 25 years and appreciated a large group of friends and chosen family. She was predeceased by her dear husband R. Vaughan Thompson, her parents Donald and Evelyn Flewelling, and brother Eugene. Marlene is survived by daughters Laurie (Stan) Campbell with grandson Ryan; Jan (Charlie) Grant with grandson Dylan (Anne), sister Elaine (Paul) Bourque, and several nieces and nephews.
