Mary Theresa Donovan – It is with great sadness that the family of Theresa Donovan announces her passing. A long-time resident of Woodstock, Theresa passed away at Thomas Hall, Parkland Shannex in Fredericton on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the age of 95.
Theresa is survived by her five sons, Patrick and his wife Joanne of Burlington, ON; James and his wife Charlotte of Noonan, NB; Arthur and his wife Patricia of Gainesville, Florida; Jerome and Stephen of Woodstock, NB: two daughters, Rosemary Fillier of St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Karen Duivenvoorden and her husband Carl of Upper Kingsclear, NB; plus, eighteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Patricia Keilty of Woodstock, NB.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband Gerald; brothers Edwin and Arthur Buck; sister Katherine (Babe) Donovan and her husband Paul; Charles and Caye Donovan; Gertrude and Ken Karnes and Richard Keilty.
Prior to marrying Gerald, she worked in the bank in Canterbury. She went on to become a stay-at-home mom before going to work at the Carleton Memorial Hospital as a clerk in the outpatient/emergency department for many years. After retirement, she volunteered at the elementary school helping children with their math and reading skills.
Theresa enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, baking and cooking delicious meals. She was a beautiful seamstress and knitter, flawless skater, and competitive hockey player.
Theresa attended and was involved in St. Gertrude's Church, Woodstock, where she prepared the weekly bulletin and assumed duties such as managing the weekly collections.
Theresa is resting at Scott's Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB with visitation from 11:00 AM-12:00 noon on Saturday.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 2 PM from St. Gertrude's Church, Woodstock, NB. Father John Keoughan will be officiating with interment in the Calvary Cemetery.
