John Joseph Williams of Woodstock, and formerly of Debec, passed away at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Friday, August 3, 2007, at the age of 90. Born at Saint John, he was a son of the late Robert and Alice (Diotte) Williams. John is survived by his wife, Lillian (Carr) Williams; a son, Eugene Williams and his wife Thelma of Moncton; a daughter, Sylvia Young and her husband Jim of Riverview; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Columbe and Edith Williams; and four brothers, Thomas, George, Henry, and Fred. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Sunday from 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am from Saint Gertrude's Catholic Church. Father Bill Brennan will be the Celebrant, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
