Jean Mary Varney  - of Marne, NB passed away at her home on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the age of 79.

Jean is survived by one daughter, Carol Rattray (Paul) of Perth-Andover, NB; two sons, Curtis Varney (Luann) of Marne, NB, and Brian Varney ( Darlene) of Dead Creek, NB; one sister, Beatrice Stratton of Nackawic, NB; two brothers, Donald Whittey of Marne, NB, and Rev. Fred Whittey (Lillian) of Yarmouth, NS; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jean was predeceaded by her husband, Herman Varney; one daughter, Nancy Barriner; one grandson, Brian Varney Jr.; and one brother, Joe Whittey.

The funeral service was held on September 26, 2011 from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Trevor Savage and Rev. Charles Yerxa officiated, with interment in the Canterbury Cemetery.
