UPTON, Janet Eveline May - of Woodstock passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, NB, on Friday, November 4, 2011, at the age of 94.

Janet was born on December 16, 1916 in Lincolnshire, England, daughter of the late Frederick W. and Elizabeth M. (Roberts) Elvin. Janet immigrated to Canada along with her parents, one sister and one brother in 1928.

Janet is survived by two daughters, Gaynelle (Gary) McLaughlin of Woodstock, NB, and Rosamond (Gerald) Wright of Houlton, Maine; five grandchildren, Roger, Lois, Peter, David, and Stephen; four great grandchildren, Patrick, Gracyn, Rebecca and Violet; two nieces, Marie Leech of Fort Erie, Ont, and Diana Kennedy of Woodstock, NB, and their families. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and their families in England.

Besides her parents, Janet was pre-deceased by her husband, Charles H. Upton; her sister, Doris Stairs; and her brother, John Elvin.

Funeral service was held on Monday, November 7, 2011 from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Robyn Cuming officiated, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
