It is with profound sadness and a very heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of James Winston Paul of Woodstock First Nation who passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the age of 51.

He was the son of the late Winston and Ilona (Haray) Paul.  He is survived by a son, Andrew Paul, and a daughter, Sierra (Dustin) Paul; his companion Chris Polchis; three sisters, Susan (Eric) Buckingham, Tina (George) Liu, Dawn (Jeff) Paul and two brothers, Timothy (Amanda) Paul and Philip (Karen) Paul as well as three grandchildren Elias, Riley, and Liam who were the light of his life; and a number of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

James was a devoted and loving father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. His main priority was always his family whom he gave the world because they were his everything. This love extended to his community where he has served on the council for many years and his commitment to them was evident. He loved the simple things in life like spending time with family and friends and just sitting around chatting and laughing.  James was a problem solver and you could always count on him to go out of his way for those in need.  His caring, loving nature and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Visitation will be held at his home on the Woodstock First Nation (69 Maliseet Drive) beginning at 5 pm on Thursday, September 15 ^th.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 10:30 am at St. Gertrude 's Catholic Church with Interment to follow at the Calvary Cemetery.
