TOMPKINS, James Robert ( Jamie ) - of Woodstock passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the age of 87. Born in Oakland, NB on April 20, 1916 Jamie was the son of the late Robert and Della ( Shaw) Tompkins . Jamie farmed in his early years and then drove truck for Day & Ross until retirement in 1988. Jamie is survived by his wife Edna ( Lawson ) Tompkins of 40 years ; 2 Sons Neville ( Eldine ) Tompkins of Connell ,NB and Robert ( Gayle ) Tompkins of Waterford, Michigan ; 2 Daughters Shirley ( Ken ) Reid of Woodstock, NB and Jean ( Don ) Sterling of Waterboro, South Carolina, USA ; 2 Sisters Florence Nixon and Marilyn Clark of Riverbank, NB. 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Jamie was predeceased by his 1st wife Agnes Montgomery and 1 brother Ronald Tompkins. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB .With visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel Rev. Fred Snyder will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.
