Obituary

The death of J. Sherman Hannah of Woodstock, husband of Phyllis E. (Hallett) Hannah, occurred on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital. Born in Jacksonville, he was the son of the late Harley and Laura (Davis) Hannah. Sherman had retired from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Spitfire Pilot, and was a former Past Master of the Masonic Lodge. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Sherman is survived by a son, Robert Hannah (Giselle) of Hampton; daughters Twyla Craft (Norman) of Saint John and Melody Hannah of Woodstock; a granddaughter, Brittney Hannah; a brother, Ralph Hannah of Montreal, QC; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Sherman was predeceased by a daughter, June Marie Hannah; brothers Robert and Arthur; and by sisters Ruth Ann Costello and Mildred Wilson. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leonard Cousins will officiate. Interment will take place later in the Upper Jacksonville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Stephen Pugh, David Turner, Ralph Vail, Malcolm McGann, Donald Nicholson, Roy Wilson, and Robert Harrison.
