Ilona Ann Paul of Teeds Mills, New Brunswick passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the age of 76.

She was the daughter of the late John and Rita (McMahon) Haray. Ilona is survived by her six children, Timothy (Amanda) Paul, Philip (Karen) Paul, James Paul (Neil), Susan (Eric) Buckingham, Tina (George) Liu, Dawn Paul (Jeff); two sisters, Rita Stoffan and Mary Ann Koprivec and one brother Patrick Haray. Ilona also has 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Besides her parents Ilona was predeceased by her husband Winston James Paul and two brothers, Michael Haray and John Haray.

Ilona was born on March 21, 1944 in Connecticut. She met the love of her life, Winston and moved to the Woodstock First Nation in 1962 where she remained to raise her six children. Once her children were grown, she decided to enroll at the Woodstock Community College where she graduated and obtained employment with the CEIC in Woodstock. She loved her job as it involved meeting and helping people. She took a break from employment to care for her husband during his time of illness. Her remaining years of employment were at Maliseet Fuels II where she worked in Finance.

Ilona was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Family was everything to her and most important in her life. She had a huge heart and so much love to give not only to her family but to others as her door was always open. Her devotion to the Catholic Church was evident through not only attending mass but attending Cursillos and teaching Sunday School.

Ilona will be resting at her home on Saturday and Sunday. It is with great sadness that only family will be able to say their last goodbyes due to COVID19 restrictions.

A private family funeral will be held on Monday at 10:30 am at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. The funeral service will be available for viewing via a live feed on Facebook at facebook.com/st.g.church.1

Father Martin Arputham will be officiating with interment in St. Gertrude's Catholic Cemetery. Anyone is welcome to attend however once again you must adhere to COVID19 restrictions while in public.
