Ida Mae Grant, formerly of Canterbury, wife of the late Guy A. Grant, passed away at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock on Friday, June 29, 2007, at the age of 96. Born at Canterbury, she was a daughter of the late Nelson Cliff and Beatrice Cordelia (Hillman) Grant. Ida is survived by a daughter, Hattie Cheney (Lawrence) of Jacksonville; a son, Claude Grant (Bertha) of Canterbury; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Ida was predeceased by a son, Alfred Grant, and a sister, Hattie Jane Grant. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Stephen L. Hoyt will be officiating, with interment in the Canterbury Cemetery.
