Helen Marie (Estabrook) McKay passed away on October 18, 2022, at the Carlton Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 15, 1940, to Harvey L. and Vera C. (MacFarlane) Estabrook in Woodstock, the youngest of 2 girls. Helen married her school sweetheart Robert McKay on December 20, 1980. They lived in Michigan, USA for a few years and then returned to the Woodstock area where she resided until her death.

"Auntie", as her US nieces and nephews called her, was a loving wife, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She was an avid Curler and fan, not missing any tournaments.  Much of her free time was spent in Maine with her sister, Marion, and Douglas Sloat on their farm in Hodgdon. She was most attentive to her nieces and nephews and enjoyed watching them start their own families, trying to keep up with the many grands and great-grands being added to their families.

Many thanks go out to Helen's neighbor Arlene Thornton, Arlene's daughter Cathy and many others for helping Auntie through Covid 19 and hospital stay in her later debilitated years. Thank you also to the staff at Carlton Manor for her good care while a resident there.

Helen was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert, sister and brother-in-law Marion and Douglas Sloat, and brother-in-law Jack McKay. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Arthur and Marion Sloat, Carol and David Smith, Richard and Jean Sloat, Catherine and Gary Poland, Andrew and Patricia Sloat, Kenneth McKay and family, as well as many grand and great grand nieces and nephews and relatives on both sides of her family.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB

The memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 2 pm (Atlantic Time) from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Craig Woodcock will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Haysettlement Cemetery.

If desired donations may be made to the  American Cancer Society, Haysettlement Cemetery, or a memorial of the donor's choice.
