Obituary

COLPITTS, Helen Elizabeth - of Woodstock passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the age of 88 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie(Tweedie) Everett. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband Banfred Colpitts in 1951, and by her brother Tom Everett.Helen is survived by; her brother Elwyn(Dorothy) Everett of Dartmouth N.S.; nephew Robert and nieces Nancy(George) Simpson, Heather(Bernard) Martin and Brenda Everett; a great-nephew Peter(Lori) Simpson, great-niece Lisa, and great-great nieces Abbey and Jordan Simpson.For many years after graduating from Woodstock High and Carleton County Vocational, Helen was employed in accounting with various concerns, including Creighton and Carter, Jock Fraser, and Dimock Enterprises. She also served in WWII, with the RCAF, having spent time in England.Following her husband's death, she assumed his partnership in Colpitts and Everett with brother Tom. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB with visiting on Thursday from 2-4, and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 :00 pm from Saint James United Church. Rev Hazel-Jane Morris will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations may be made to the St. James United Church Building Fund, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
