Obituary

Harold William Culbert of Woodstock, husband of Doreena A. (Morin) Culbert, passed away at Carleton Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, March 01, 2005, at the age of 60. Born at Woodstock, he was the son of the late Edward Thomas and Geneva Hattie (Craig) Culbert. Harold was very active in community and church activities. He was a former mayor of the Town of Woodstock, serving for four terms; a Member of Parliament for Carleton-Charlotte, and was currently a National Director and Provincial President of the Kidney Foundation of Canada. In addition to his wife, Harold is survived by two sons, Eugene Culbert (Ellen) of Woodstock and Timothy Culbert of Toronto, Ontario; a daughter, Angela Dyer (Larry) of Jacksonville; two sisters, Evelyn Jackson of Upper Woodstock and Mary Gagnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Chantal, and Erica Culbert, and Ashley, Lindsey, and Tyler Dyer; and several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene and Charles Culbert. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 am from St. Gertrude's Church. Father Bill Brennan will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
