YERXA, Gladys Myrtle Rowella - of Memramcook, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the age of 60.

Gladys was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland on Dec. 20, 1953 to the late John Frederick and Rose Lena (Tucker) Newman. Gladys (known as Gidget to many) held a special place in her heart for all her family and friends, as well as her home province of Newfoundland which she loved to visit at any chance she got. Her special friends were her cockatiels which she treated like her family, giving her many hours of joy. Gladys is survived by her husband James Yerxa, one daughter Candace (Mike) Mather and their children Riley, Ashton, Brooklyn and Carson. a son Terry Melvin and his daughter Samantha, son Gregory Melvin and his children Kyle and Alicia, Step-children Steven, Michael and Victoria Yerxa. She is also survived by sisters, Loretta (Ethelred) Keats, Margaret (Roy) Dalley, Dorcas Blake, and Jacqueline Newman of Newfoundland and one brother Timothy (Leona) Newman of Ontario many nieces, nephews and close friends. Besides her parents, Gladys was pre-deceased by a sister Gertrude and husband (Isaac) Burton.

A private memorial service will be held in Greenspond, Newfoundland, at a later date.

If desired donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a memorial of the donors choice.
