Gerald Jacobus Hoogendyk of Jacksonville, husband of Annie M. (Schuttenbeld) Hoogendyk, passed away at his residence on Friday, January 28, 2005, at the age of 82. Born in Holland, he was the son of the late Gerard and Maria (Kaag) Hoogendyk. In addition to his wife, Gerald is survived by his son, John and his wife Anne of Elgin, Ontario; 7 grandchildren, Mark Hoogendyk, Elizabeth Hoogendyk, Emily Hoogendyk, Peter Hoogendyk, Angela Hussey, Andre Hoogendyk, and Monica Hoogendyk. Gerald was predeceased by a son, Gerald Jan Hoogendyk in 1995. Resting at The Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 12:00 Noon from St. Gertrude's Church. Rev. Bill Brennan will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock at a later date.
