Flora Mae Haywood

In Loving Memory of Flora May Haywood born May 30, 1935.

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Flora May Haywood announces her passing on August 31, 2026.

Flora peacefully passed from her earthly vessel into her eternal home, where she will forever be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She passed away with her loving family by her side at Carleton Manor in Woodstock, New Brunswick, which she had called home since November 2023.

Flora shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband and soulmate, Gordon Haywood. Together, they made Victoria Corner their first home, where they built a life filled with love, faith, and family while raising their three children Robert, Laurie and Timothy

Flora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Christian woman whose faith was at the centre of her life. She taught Sunday school to many young people and welcomed teenagers into her home for Bible studies. Her home was a place of fellowship, friendship, and faith, and she touched the lives of many through her love and guidance.

Flora had many talents and found great joy in serving others. She made beautiful wedding and birthday cakes and enjoyed hosting wedding showers for family and friends. She worked at Deware’s Store in Waterville and at the DeLong Special Care Home in Wilmot.

Flora was a warm, caring, and approachable woman who greeted everyone with a bright and welcoming smile. She generously volunteered her time at both the Dr. Walter Chestnut Library in Hartland and the Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville, where she enjoyed helping others and being part of her community.

Flora was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon Haywood, her parents, and several of her siblings.

She is survived by her loving children, Robert (Jean) Haywood, Laurie (Jeff) Walton, and Timothy (Jill) Haywood; her grandchildren, Kris Haywood, Aimee Haywood, Ben (Melissa) Walton, Sam (Stacey) Walton Jessica (Jordan) Shellabarger, Marissa (Ryan) McCully ; as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Jacob Bruce, Mia Bruce, Gordie Savoie, Charlie Savoie, Layla Walton, Lily Walton, Grace McCully, Adalyn McCully, Samuel Walton, Sophia Walton, Hadleigh Shellabarger , Oakleigh Shellabarger, and Daisy Shellabarger

Flora will be deeply missed by her family, friends, church family, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout her lifetime. Her kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and Beautiful welcoming smile will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Flora is now home with her Lord and Saviour, where she has found eternal peace.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at the Lower Brighton, Wesleyan Church on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 12:00 noon, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m.

Rev. Jacob Ebbett will be officiating with Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hartland, New Brunswick.
