Eugene Thomas Jewett of Woodstock passed away at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton on Friday, March 31, 2006, at the age of 81. Born at Presque Isle, Maine, he was a son of the late Chester Odbur and Nellie Marie (Brewster) Jewett. Eugene is survived by his wife, Eva M. (Mecalick) Jewett; a son, Greg Jewett (Janet) of Hampton, NB; daughters Sherry MacDonald (Rev. Dale) of Woodstock, NB and Susan Pierce (Tom) of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a sister, Mary Corey of Toronto, ON; seven grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Eugene was predeceased by a sister, Glenna Jordan; and by a brother, Irvine Jewett. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mel Norton will be officiating, with interment in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
