Born on August 14, 1938, in Millville, NB to Grace and Basil Ingraham, Dorothy moved to Meductic to attend high school where she lived with her sister and brother-in-law. Later she moved to Woodstock to work at NBTel as a switchboard operator where she met and married Bert Connell, the man who would be her lifelong companion for over 66 years. Together they raised four children: Michael, Debra, Heather, and Rhonda, and operated a successful business in the area for many years. Upon retirement, Dorothy and Bert spent several winters in Florida enjoying many activities and meetings lots of new friends.
Dorothy was also no stranger to involvement in many organizations and activities. She held positions of responsibility in a number of these groups.

She lived her final years at the Carleton Manor where she received great care and was able to enjoy the activities sponsored for the "neighbors". She was predeceased by her parents and siblings.
