ROSSETTI, Dorothy Passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Montreal General Hospital. She was well known and respected in the Canadian dance community, having founded and directed the affairs of Rossetti Ballet and Theatrical supplies, now Rossetti de Montreal, for six decades. At one time, she represented Capezio products across Canada and introduced Mondor dance wear to the world of dance. Dorothy was also a co-founder of the Canadian Dance Retailers Association. For many years, Rossetti's supplied Cirque du Soleil with handmade performance boots and footwear. She was known for her generosity, frequently sponsoring dance students in their studies,and professionals in their careers. Her generosity extended to taking medical supplies to Cuba, where she vacationed annually. Dorothy met and married Frederick Clarke in Montreal. She was instrumental in the planning and renovation of the Upper Woodstock house and for many years she and Frederick enjoyed attending auctions, purchasing furniture and antiques that were in keeping with the period and architecture of the house. Dorothy was born in Lethbridge, Alberta and is survived by her daughter Joan Rossetti of Boston, MA and by nieces and nephews in Canada and England. She will be mourned by many friends in Cuba, New Brunswick, and Montreal, as well as by her long-term employees.

A reception will be held at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM followed by a service at the St. Luke's Anglican Church in Woodstock at 2 PM with committal following in the Upper Woodstock Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ANAVETS Woodstock Unit or the Carleton County Historical Society.
