Obituary

Doris Ruth Atherton of Woodstock, NB passed away peacefully on Friday, January 28 th , 2022, at the Carleton Manor in Woodstock, NB; at the age of 87.

Doris was the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret (Ivey) Faulkner.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie-Roy (Sandy) Atherton of Perth-Andover, NB; Terry Atherton of Woodstock, NB; Sisters; Joyce Graham of Palm Bay, FL; Marjorie (Roland) Graham of Houlton, Maine; Shirley (Floyd) Scott of Grand Bay, NB; Grandchildren; Benjamin Atherton, Jordan (Nicole) Atherton, Jennifer Atherton, Kyle (Terryn) Atherton, Laurel Jones; Great-Grandchildren; Brooklyn Atherton, Floyd Atherton; As well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Ronald Guy Atherton; daughter, Debra Atherton; sister, Elizabeth (Bessie) Graham.

Doris enjoyed cooking throughout her younger years. Having completed a course in home economics and commercial skills at the Woodstock Community Vocational School, she worked at Dixie Lee and later opened The North Star Canteen in Woodstock, with her husband Ron. She spent many years at the family cottages located at First Eel Lake, NB while raising her family. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Resting at the  Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB

There will be no visitation at this time.   A graveside Funeral Service will be held in the Spring, and the public will be notified at that time.
