The family of Clara Diane Moffatt of Woodstock, NB announces with deep sadness her peaceful passing on Thursday Feb. 13, 2020 at the Upper River Valley Hospital after a period of failing health at the age of 74.

Clara was the daughter of the late Ronald and Lorraine (Cormier) Moffatt. She is survived by two sisters Sharron Moffatt of Perth Andover, Linda Moffatt of Perth Andover; brother David Moffatt of Lower Woodstock, NB.; sister in-law Helene Moffatt of Fredericton, NB;nieces Karen (Devin), Danielle (Paul), Lauren, Christine; and nephews Michael (Michele), Eric (Pam) and Shawn; grandnieces and nephew, aunts, uncle and cousins.

Besides her parents Clara is predeceased by her  brother Gary Moffatt and nephew David Whittom.

After graduating from Woodstock High School Clara, studied nursing at the Carleton Memorial Hospital and earned her RN designation. She took post-graduate courses in Montreal. Clara served on the Woodstock Town Council for several years and was Mayor from 1992-1995, the only woman to have held that position. She taught the RNA program at NBCC in Woodstock. Clara was a volunteer with St. John Ambulance. In the more recent years she worked as receptionist/bookeeper for her brother Gary, chartered accountant.

Clara was a faithful member of the Anglican Church and served as layreader for several years. She had a wonderful sense of humour and loved telling jokes. She had a generous and kind spirit. Many mornings you would find her at Tim Hortons sharing the latest news and laughter with her friends.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB with visitation on Sunday February 16, 2020 from 2 pm - 4 pm.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February  17, 2020 at 11 am. At the Scott Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Rod Black officiating with interment in the Christ Church Cemetery, Lower Woodstock, NB  at a later date.
