Bascelia Elizabeth Rees of Woodstock, wife of the late Leslie A. Rees, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Born at Dow Settlement, she was a daughter of the late Eden and Sarah (Boardman) Patterson. She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Abbott (Dave McLean) of Lindsay, and Gloria Foster (Michael) of Brampton, ON; three sons, Maurice Rees (Dorothy) of Maitland, NS, Wayne Rees (Joanne) of Etobicoke, ON, and Glendon Rees (Barbara) of Guysborough, NS; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Bascelia was predeceased by her brother, Robert Patterson, and her sister, Anna Wunker, both of Ontario. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Paul Wellwood will be officiating, with interment in the United Church Cemetery, McKenzie Corner. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the United Church Cemetery, McKenzie Corner would be appreciated by the family.
