ALLEN, Avis Stella - of Woodstock, NB passed away at Upper River Valley Hospital in Waterville on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at the age of 85.

Avis was survived by her husband Arthur, two daughters Gloria (Eugene) Jacobs, Connie (Terry) Black; son Herbert (Elaine) Caverhill; one stepson Bruce Allen (Wendy); two stepdaughters Marjorie Dewar (Tim) and Valerie Dunlap; two sisters Shirley Kinney (Edward) and Kathleen Wallace.

Avis was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Pearl (Chase) Thornton; sister Eldena Thornton; brother Earlen Thornton; great grandson Jordan Miller.

Resting was at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB , with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm .

The funeral service was held on Friday at 2 pm from Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leonard Cousins officiated. Interment was in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
