Audrey Melissa McCormick passed away with family at her side, in the early morning of Wednesday, September 3, at Upper River Valley Hospital.

Born in Woodstock on May 19, 1963, to Donald and Gladys Burpee of Jacksontown, Audrey was the youngest of four siblings, to Floyd (Donna), Carol (Mike Connell), and Janet.

Audrey was predeceased by her Mom and Dad, Donald and Gladys. Besides her siblings, Audrey is survived by husband Andrew McCormick, daughter Molly (Shelton Bonner), son Adam (Becca Leblanc), and stepdaughter Julia Perry (T.J.) of Edmonton. Audrey was loved by several nieces and nephews.

Growing up on Hannah Hill in Jacksontown as the baby of the family, Audrey was regularly delegated to "family jobs of lesser means." Carol and Janet will tell you that Floyd was sibling dictator, notably using Audrey as the de facto goaltender and personal pizza cook. Audrey loved her family deeply, and her stories of their youth adventures and of Burpee family camping travels had no limit.

Audrey began school in Centreville and graduated from Woodstock High School in 1981.  She received her Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of New Brunswick and worked as a supply teacher in District 29, prior to establishing her career at Early Intervention in Woodstock. Audrey's love for children shone in her role and stayed in touch with many client families long after home service had finished.

Audrey married Andrew on June 3, 1995, and went about making a home and building a family together.

At home, she was a painter and interior designer extraordinaire. Her dear friend Cindy Depow will always remember driving up the driveway and seeing Audrey risking life and limb, balancing atop the top rung of the ladder with paint brush in hand.

Her love for her children was unlimited. Her warm motherly instinct and selfless nature is instilled and will forever be a part of Molly and Adam. The kids called their mom daily, no matter their location and schedule. Audrey always steered the conversation to her children, wanting to hear of their day. For Adam and Molly, hearing Mom's laugh completed their day.

As a testament to her commitment to work, Audrey continued working until one week prior in leaving for Toronto on December 1, 2017, to await a life saving lung transplant.

Post transplant, Audrey leaves her mark an inspiring, gritty and determined fighter. She didn't complain of health related obstacles being in her way of staying healthy. But prior to her lung transplant, to her family and close friends. Audrey left her biggest legacy as a dedicated Mom, loyal friend and devoted wife.

"To call Audrey your friend meant you were truly blessed.  When you made that connection with her, you found a friend for life. As a friend, she was thoughtful, kind, trusting, determined, talented, and with the most genuine heart.  Regardless of whatever life was throwing at her, she wanted to know you were ok and that you had an ear, shoulder, and the advice of someone who loved you."

"Audrey had the absolute best laugh. It was infectious and the kind of laugh that once it started, it took over your body and soul, and you didn't want it to stop. She was always available for a virtual morning drive and coffee chat. She loved and cherished her family and friends, and her greatest joy was being called Mom."

With a keen love for animals, Audrey was blessed to have Bella and Nikki at their side for the past 17 years. Her time with Bella will be rekindled in Heaven, with her Mom and Dad, and Andrew's parents Al and Marge.

At Audrey's side, our family was blessed with an incredible final evening together, into the early morning.  Audrey's strength as she shared details of her children's birth dates and her love for us offers us peace. When the going was toughest, Audrey was at her strongest. We'll never forget her strength that night.

Thank you for the tremendous support from friends far and wide and the business community. Thank you to all who have reached out. Your kind words have hold great meaning for us all.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB. There will be no public visitation or Funeral Service at this time.
