Audrey Gladys Bartlett passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side November 28, 2015 at the age of 91.
Born in Woodstock on February 22, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Bessie (Dickinson) and Jack Slater. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Beverley Bartlett, her parents and brothers Wilbur and Arthur Slater; sisters Elizabeth Slater, Jean Harding, Mary Ann Doherty; and son-in-law Barney Wright.
Audrey is survived by her daughters Susan Bartlett, Lois Wright (David Barclay), Ann Faulkner (Carl), Jane Bull (Keith), Ruth Ellis (Kevin), Holly Matthews (Michael); sister Minnie Maguire; sister-in-law Connie Slater; brother-in-law Lester Bartlett (Mardee); sisters-in-law Frances Steeves and Lois Bartlett; 22 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Normal School, Audrey taught in Carleton and Charlotte County schools prior to her marriage in 1949. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved to knit, play bridge and summer in St. Andrews. She was a long-time member of the Woodstock Baptist Church, Jean Quigg Rushton Mission Circle and King's Daughters.
Visitation will be held at Scott's Funeral Home, Upper Main Street, Woodstock, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 4-8 pm.
Celebration service will be held at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2 pm. Rev. Leonard Cousins will be officiating, A reception will follow at the funeral Home.
Interment will take place in the Woodstock Rural Cemetery.
