It is with heavy hearts that the family of Aubrey Lloyd DeLong of Canterbury, New Brunswick, announces his passing on Friday, April 17, 2026, at home, at the age of 86.

Born on September 29, 1939, in Simonds Parish, NB, Aubrey was the son of the late Bliss James DeLong and Mignon Thelma (Pratt) DeLong.

Aubrey was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janice Marie DeLong (Smith); his brothers Ronald (Barb) DeLong and Carl (Beth) DeLong; his sister June (DeLong) Gould; and his great-granddaughter, Kallie Byers.

He will be deeply missed by his children: Kevin (Rhonda) DeLong, Kim (Tom) Lundy, Tina (David) Byers, and Todd (Michelle) DeLong; his cherished grandchildren: Jennifer (Rob), Cassidy (Sheldon), Samantha, Taylor, Michael (Rebekah), Caitlyn (David), Emily, Kayla, and Jasmine; and his eight great-grandchildren.

Aubrey spent many years as a snowbird, enjoying winters in Florida alongside his beloved wife, creating lasting memories filled with warmth and sunshine. Closer to home, some of his most treasured times were spent at the family’s place on Second Eel River Lake, where days were filled with simple pleasures and time together.

Known for his resourcefulness, Aubrey was a true tinkerer. He had a natural ability to fix or build just about anything, always finding a way to make things work. Whether it was a small repair or a larger project, he took pride in working with his hands and helping those around him.

A quiet and steady presence, Aubrey will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his practical skills, and the many ways he showed care through the things he built and repaired over the years.

Resting at Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
