Arthur Allen (Jr) of Fredericton, passed away on February 7, 2017 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital at the age of 88.

Art was a veteran of WW II and served with the North Shore Regiment of New Brunswick. He was a life long member of the Royal Canadian Legion and active in the Lions Club during his life. He was a member of the Woodstock Baptist Church. Art worked for NB Power for over 40 years and lived throughout New Brunswick during his working career.

Art is predeceased by his wife Avis Allen (Thornton), parents Arthur Allen (Sr) and Marjorie Allen (Pyne), his brothers William (Bill) Allen, and James (Jimmy) Allen. Art is survived by his brother Joseph (Joe) Allen (Connie) of Miramichi N.B., his daughter Marjorie (Tim) Dewar of Ottawa, Valerie Dunlap of Fredericton and Bruce Allen (Wendy) of Edmonton Alberta. He is also survived by many grand children and great-grand children.

By request of the family there will be no Visitation or Funeral Service at this time .

A grave side funeral service will be held at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.

The family would like to thank Dr Debra Gowan and Nurses of the Palliative Care unit of the Chalmers Regional Hospital for their professionalism and care during our father's final days.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be sent to the Palliative Care Unit of the Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation.
