It is with great sadness , we announce the passing of Andrew (Andy) George Sutherland on September 1, 2020. Born in Moncton, December 6 ,1944, he was the son of the late Dr. Jed and Marie Sutherland.

Andrew grew up in Woodstock and graduated from The University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Arts and The University of Maine at Orono  with a Masters of Business Administration.

He is survived by his sister Heather Sutherland (Halifax), nephew Tyler James (Halifax),niece Dr. Lindsay James (Boston) and nephew Darren James (Amsterdam). He was predeceased by his brother Dr. Lloyd Sutherland. Andy was devoted to his immediate and extended family and will be missed by everyone.

Over the years, Andy held various positions and worked in several businesses including  Fairview Plymouth Chrysler and Brunswick Bottling. Andrew was devoted to his community; and was a faithful volunteer to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Old Home Week, Woodstock Driving Club and various political associations.

He was an avid skier, enjoyed reading, cottage life, boating and a good political debate. In his later years he enjoyed baking bread, biscuits, cakes and pies for friends and church dinners.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Carleton Manor and his caregivers.

Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street Woodstock, NB.

A "Celebration of Life "service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1pm at St Luke's Anglican Church , Woodstock. Rev. Shirley Noseworthy will be officiating.

Donations in his memory can be made to The University of New Brunswick and Andrew and Laura McCain Art Gallery.
